Scott Doughty

R.I.P.: Scott Doughty
June 17, 1970 - June 1, 2004

Good-lookin' Doughty boys
Two fine Doughty boys.
On the right you see me and my favorite nephew: Scott Doughty. The photo was taken a couple of years ago in a nursing home's Skilled Nursing Facility. Scott suffers from spina bifida. Most of his 31 years on this earth have been spent in various nursing homes and hospitals.

His world, his "earth," is the halls of a nursing home, his 8 x 15 cell-like room, and an endless cycle of doctors, nurses, and aides. Imagine yourself in Scott's position—only 31 and in a nursing home and surrounded by the aged and the infirm. His roommate is an elderly and comatose man.

You can improve Scott's quality of life. He receives almost no mail. His birthday is June 17. Send him a birthday card. Or send him a Christmas card, an Easter card, a Halloween card, or just a plain ole "Hi, Scott!" card.

Scott likes country music. His favorite artists are Trace Adkins, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Billy Gilman. But on the $31 a month the state allows Scott for personal use, he certainly can't afford to buy $15 CDs. So if you're one of those artists or even if you're a new country artist please add Scott to your promotional distribution list. Thanks.

By the way. Scott likes photos and posters that he can hang on the walls of his nursing home room. An autograph would sure be nice. Thanks again.
